Strategic Pricing-Analytics

Tender prices you can put your name to.

We help hard and soft facility management contractors price their tenders with numbers that hold up under evaluation. Every price is built twice, every figure has a source, and every quote has a name.

Who it is for

House of Research is here for contractors that are:

  1. 01Pricing a tender against a tight deadlineAnd need a number they can defend line by line, not a best guess.
  2. 02Bidding into a new region, client or service lineWithout their own rate history to lean on.
  3. 03Questioning whether current contract rates still cover costBefore the margin quietly disappears over the life of the contract.
  4. 04Deciding whether a tender is worth bidding at allSo effort goes into the work they are best placed to win and deliver.

How we price

Every price built twice, then reconciled.

One method on its own can mislead. Two independent methods that agree give you a price you can stand behind. Where they disagree, that gap is information worth understanding.

Market pricing

Current rates sourced from subcontractors and suppliers for the actual scope, so the price reflects what the work costs in today's market.

Bottom-up cost model

Labour, materials and management costed from first principles, built independently of the quotes so each method checks the other.

Reconciliation

The two are compared line by line. Differences are investigated and explained, not averaged away, before a final rate is set.

What we do

Tender, contract and benchmark pricing

  • Hard FM and soft FM tender pricing
  • Contract pricing analysis
  • Sector price benchmark analysis
  • Supply-chain market pricing
  • Bottom-up cost models
  • Evidence pack with named quotes
  • Bid-fit assessment

Transparent pricing

Every estimate shows its sources, including quotes from named subcontractors for the relevant scope. You can see, test and trust the basis of every bid rather than taking the number on faith.

Evidence pack

The model, the quotes and the assumptions behind every rate, handed over with the price. When an evaluator asks where a number came from, you have the answer.

Bid-fit assessment

An optional first step. Before pricing, we check the tender matches your capability, capacity and strategic direction, so you only chase work worth winning.

The process

Four stages, and you see the working at each one.

  1. 01

    Scope the tender

What is being priced, how it will be evaluated, and the level of precision the bid actually needs. Bid-fit is checked here if you want it.

  2. 02

    Fix the basis

Scope, inclusions, exclusions and assumptions agreed and written down before pricing starts, so the basis of the number is never in dispute later.

  3. 03

    Build it twice, then reconcile

Market rates gathered from subcontractors and suppliers, a bottom-up model built alongside, and the two reconciled line by line.

  4. 04

    Hand it over

A final price with the model, the named quotes and the limitations attached. You can defend it in front of an evaluator without us in the room.
